Casa Princeton was restored by Matthew and Emma Goodwin, the couple behind the Surfrider Hotel in Malibu. The house was designed in 1936 by Cecil Gale, and the Goodwins kept its Spanish plan intact while rebuilding everything on top of it: hand-troweled plaster walls, custom Farrow & Ball pigments, low-VOC paint, and filtered water throughout.

The result is a single-story main house of 2,340 square feet, with four bedrooms and four baths counted across the residence and the guest house. Arched openings run through the plan, the floors are wood, and the kitchen sits under marble with AGA and Miele appliances and a terracotta floor.

Outside, a heated saltwater pool runs the length of a hedged garden, and the grounds are the work of landscape architect P. Keningale, planted with organic beds. The guest house holds its own sitting room and bedroom under a wood ceiling, with doors opening to the garden.
