It takes its name from Ann Rutherford, Carreen O'Hara in Gone With the Wind, who later owned it with her husband.
Richard Manion Architecture restored the house and added to it, with interiors by David Desmond and gardens by Daniel Busbin: new entertaining rooms, a family wing, a primary suite with marble baths and its own lounge over the garden, and a guest wing above the garage. The winding entry stair, the Ruhlmann-inspired library and billiard room, and the morning room with its 18th-century wallpaper and original fireplace carry the 1938 house through.
The kitchen is marble under a mosaic-tiled ceiling, with a black and white checkerboard floor that runs into the breakfast room. There are five bedrooms and eleven baths in 13,678 square feet.
Behind the house a pavilion holds the oval pool and a cupola-topped pool house with a gym and spa, built to Williams's original design. Greenway Drive runs along the Los Angeles Country Club, and the 0.61-acre garden looks out over the fairways.
