Jeffrey Mills designed this house in 1997, on just over an acre behind gates in Upper Nichols Canyon, on the stretch known as Celebrity Row. Michael B. Jordan owned it for a time. Joelle Kutner and Jesse Rudolph of Ome Dezin have since rebuilt the interiors, keeping most of the original structure and working in concrete, timber, glass and stone toward something between California modernism and a French country house.

The great room opens straight out to the gardens and the pool. There is a screening room and library, a formal dining and reception room with a bar built into it, and a kitchen with a La Cornue range and a pizza oven. Four bedrooms and five and a half baths across 4,910 square feet, one of them a ground-floor guest suite that opens to the garden.

The primary suite sits upstairs under high ceilings, with a fireplace, a corner terrace and a dressing room. Its bath puts a freestanding marble tub in the middle of the floor, with treetop views on every side. The two other bedrooms upstairs each have a balcony and a bath of their own.

The grounds hold the pool under mature trees, a mirrored sauna that disappears into the greenery, a jacuzzi, a fire-pit lounge, an outdoor kitchen, a fountain and a stepped waterfall. The drive is gated and parks ten.
