An Ojai Farmhouse Compound

A twelve-foot pivot door opens the main residence onto a living room with ceilings that run from twelve to twenty feet and walls of glass on the courtyard, where olive trees stand in gravel and native planting. Wide-plank white oak runs underfoot, the fireplaces are cast concrete and sandblasted limestone, the kitchen is Calacatta marble with Miele, Wolf and Sub-Zero, and the lighting comes from Apparatus and Rejuvenation.

Two primary suites anchor the plan. The first carries a boutique-style dressing room and a bath that opens to a private outdoor shower and garden; the second has its own fireplace, a soaking tub and a rainfall shower under a tall ceiling. Guest suites with custom millwork fill out the main house, and beyond it sit a self-contained guest house, a pool cabana, an entertainment pavilion with an indoor-outdoor kitchen, a large studio, and detached garages tall enough for lifts.

Grounds by Fiore

Fiore Landscape & Design laid out the grounds: turfed lawns, gardens, wide patios, an outdoor kitchen, and a pool and spa set against the Topatopa Mountains. Hiking trails, the Ojai Valley Inn, and the town's restaurants and galleries are all a short drive away. Lucy Development Co. built the compound.
